This sculpture, along with the Clown, and The Day of the Dead were inspired by the strange paintings of James Ensor. However they took on a life of their own in the making, and became their own entities. The idea for this piece was influenced as well by a Han Dynasty sculpture called The Entertainer.

The Clown grew out of happenstance and response to the clay as i was making it.

This piece was inspired by a drawing a friend sent me in a letter. I think it was based on Alice in Wonderland. I love the darling and slightly unsettling aspects that manifest together.
The Devil 9" Raku The Devil was taken from a drawing by Goya.	Siamese 3" Raku The Cat is a small sculpture I made while watching my cat.

Storks 24" x 36" I have done numerous studies of woodstorks as they congregate at the inlet as if they are posing for me.	The Inlet Bridge 16" x 20" This painting shows people out enjoying themselves at the Sebastian Inlet State Park. The ocean and a jetty are in the background beyond the bridge.
